| Abstract | Como parte de um projeto cientifico para estudar as características do tempo e do clima da regido central do Brasil, medidas experimentais tem sido tomadas em um sitio localizado em Miranda, uma cidade na região do Pantanal no Mato Grosso do Sul. No período de 14 a 23 de setembro de 1999, realizou-se uma campanha intensiva de coleta de dados. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as condições do tempo local durante essa campanha. Essa análise baseou-se em imagens de satélite, documentação visual de elementos meteorológicos, perfis atmosféricos e dados de relâmpagos. Concluiu-se que o período foi caracterizado por condições atmosféricas estáveis nos dias 14, 16 a 19 à tarde, e 22 a 23 de setembro, e condições instáveis nos dias 15 e 19 a 20 de setembro, associadas a ocorrência de convenções induzida pela passagem de duas frentes frias. ABSTRACT: As part of a scientific project to study the characteristics of weather and climate of the central region of Brazil, measurements have been taken on a site located in Miranda, a town in the South Pantanal region. From September 14th. to 23rd. in 1999, an intensive experimental campaign was carried out. The purpose of this article is to analyze the local weather during this campaign. The analysis is based on GOES 8 images, sky imagery, radiosonde dataset, and electrical discharge data. The observations showed that the period was generally characterized by stable atmospheric conditions (Sep. 14th., 161th. to 19th. mornings, and 22nd. to 23rd.), except for two cold front disruptions (Sep. 15th. and 19th. to 20th.). |
